In our corrupt society the world compromise the soul to conform to the sinful ways of this world every day.

“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭12‬:‭2‬ ‭KJV

Today’s world

Observing the world suggests that we are in the end times, with the return of Jesus Christ being imminent. Various verses in the Bible describe the conditions that will prevail during this period.

“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, high-minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;” 2 Tim 3:1-4.

It is quite easy to identify numerous of the above characteristics when observing our population where our world compromise the soul. We are indeed living in a world where morals considered outdated, and the focus is placed on the individual.

change is happening

My focus will be on Daniel 12:4.

“But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.“

In the past fifty to one hundred years, we have witnessed the most significant advancement in knowledge, surpassing that of the previous two thousand years. It is evident that most inventions have been designed to assist humanity in enhancing its understanding. With the advent of the radio, television, commercial aircraft, home telephones, mobile smartphones, computers, and the internet, we observe a remarkable increase in knowledge, resulting in a much smaller world.

The prince of this world, the devil, is aware that his time is nearing its conclusion. His frantic effort is to deceive as many individuals as possible before his time expires. It is remarkable to possess the ability to reach the masses simultaneously and to mislead them. Such a capability has never been achievable in the history of humanity.

Through the process of desensitization, we have subjected ourselves to the phenomenon of creeping normality over time. Some sins have become so commonplace that we do not even recognize when we are committing them, even though we do so numerous times each day. I will discuss only one of them here; however, there are numerous others that we overlook because they have become routine behaviors for us as the world compromise the soul.

Godly men

“but I say unto you, that whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5‬:‭28‬ ‭KJV. ‬‬

This may be the most challenging yet also the most prevalent sin we commit. Society has conditioned us to such a degree that we often fail to recognize when we are in sin.

Sitting on the couch with your wife, you are watching your favorite show. An advertisement featuring a model displaying women’s underwear appears. Both you and your wife observe it. It does not seem to bother her that her husband is watching another woman in such attire.

While walking in the clothing store, you notice the same woman in underwear featured on a large poster against the wall. You glance up, and your wife is observing it as well. This situation poses no issue; after all, you have visited this store countless times, and it has lost its novelty.

It’s a hot summers day and your family is enjoying some time at the pool with your friend’s family. Everyone is admiring his teenage daughter in her bikini and commenting on how beautiful she is.

The aforementioned scenarios illustrate how the world compromise the soul by our failure to adequately protect what we allow our eyes to behold. Such behavior not only disrespects one’s spouse but also constitutes a transgression against the will of God. As Christian men, it is imperative that we honor God’s will and adjust our lives accordingly. We must acknowledge how easily we can stumble and sin.

Godly woman

“Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God:” ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭10‬:‭31‬-‭32‬ ‭KJV‬‬.

It is not only men who struggle with the lust of their eyes; women may also face this challenge. This message addresses women, urging them to recognize their responsibility towards all men. They should refrain from acting or dressing in a manner that could cause offense or lead someone to stumble. Wearing revealing clothing is unacceptable and not justified simply because it is a common practice, and the world compromise the soul. One risk being in sin if they cause another to sin by invoking lustful thoughts.
